For the ideal results, don't add anything but water and ½ piece of fruit or 2 quarter pieces of two different kinds of fruit. With that said, the ideal balance is one thing, but finding the right taste for you is another. Both are important. It's better to start out adding what you want if you think it is necessary in order for the shake to taste better. However, if you have not taken it yet, I think you will be amazed at how good it tastes with just water and a ½ piece of fruit, blended with ice. Even my kids love it!
Melons don't react well with protein and may cause gas. It is best to eat melons alone and without other foods. The fruit provides important amounts of fresh carbohydrates. The best fruits to use are apples, blueberries, or bananas.
