Krill Oil is an excellent source of Omega 3, omega 6 and Omega 9 that help reduce swelling and lower cholesterol.
Krill is a tiny shrimp-like crustacean found in the Southern Oceans. The Southern Oceans are the only oceans in the world that remain unpolluted by the heavy toxic metals that are now to be found in many fish oils. Krill are a rich source of Omega 3, 6 & 9, and their antioxidant levels are 300 times great times greater than Vitamins A & E and 48 times greater than Omega 3 found in standard fish oils.
This krill oil is 100% natural Antarctic pure krill oil that offers a unique combination of antioxidants, omega-3, 6 and 9 oils and other potent ingredients. It supports a healthy heart, with reduction in heart-damaging inflammation, improves concentration, memory and learning and lowers cholesterol. Krill oil is also known to encourage healthy joints and decrease in pain and symptoms associated with arthritis.
Developing research shows that taking 1-1.5 grams of krill oil daily reduces total cholesterol and “bad” low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and increases “good” high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in patients with high cholesterol. Higher doses of 2-3 grams daily also appear to significantly reduce levels of triglyceride, another type of blood fat.
There is some evidence that taking 2 grams of krill oil daily might reduce symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
This krill oil provides omega-3 in phospholipid form, mainly as phosphatidylcholine. Omega-3 availability is increased when delivered by phospholipids compared with other sources, due to more efficient absorption of omega-3 phospholipids in the small intestine. After absorption, phosphatidylcholine is incorporated into cell membranes and participates in fatty acid transport in blood and across membranes. Lysophosphatidylcholine is thought to impact the distribution of fatty acids to the body’s organs and tissues because of its role in lipoprotein assemblages, which serve as vehicles that transport fatty acids via blood serum. As a consequence of the enhanced availability of omega-3 when delivered by phospholipids in humans, it is proposed that this Krill Oil is a superior source of omega-3 for promoting cardiovascular health.
