NAC helps repair muscle tissue, build connective tissue, detoxify the liver, and fight viral infections.

N'Acetyl L-Cysteine, also called NAC, contains a highly stable form of l-cysteine, an important sulfur-containing amino acid. So NAC is basically the supplemental form of the amino acid L-cysteine.

However, when cysteine is ingested as a supplement, it is oxidized and gets burned up rather quickly by the body. NAC is much more stable. NAC helps neutralize the byproducts of ingested fats and alcohol metabolism and protect the body from the damaging effects of chemotherapy, cigarette smoke, heavy metals, and various other substances.

NAC is a precursor to glutathione, one of the most powerful antioxidants on earth. Glutathione neutralizes free radicals, and protects your body from oxidative damage. Glutathione is also your body's "master detoxifier" and your liver needs it to detox. Without it, your liver simply cannot function. By taking NAC, you can increase your glutathione levels, and help your liver get rid of harmful toxins.

NAC (as cysteine, which it becomes once in the body) is an integral component of connective tissue — tendons, ligaments, and the soft tissues that support our joints. Along with a number of other nutrients (like Vitamin C), it is actually part of the material that comprises the connective tissue. NAC is used by elite athletes who have suffered tears and partial tears of connective tissue as part of a post-surgery recovery strategy.

I always have NAC in the house. Anytime I ever need to take a tylenol or motrin type product I always take NAC with it to help my liver. NAC is a great anti-oxidant and helps maintain your cellular health. We all should take it really.

This is a supplement we all most have, because even if we avoid to take some medications, there is some times that we most take, and this is the supplement you need to take with them!!!
