Liver Cleanse Helps Flush Gall Stones

John Gray

Do you feel tired and sluggish?  Is your memory and vision not as sharp as they used to be? Are you unable to lose weight no matter how hard you try?  Then you may be due for a liver cleanse.

With the exception of the skin, the liver is the largest organ in the body. It's also the hardest working organ in your body. Every day, it has to perform over 500 essential functions. These include:

  • Producing more than 13,000 crucial chemicals
  • Regulating over 50,000 vital enzymes
  • Balancing sex hormones, including testosterone and estrogen
  • Filtering nearly 100 gallons of blood
  • Producing a full quart of bile to break down fat
  • Maintaining healthy cholesterol, blood sugar, and amino acids
  • Converting glucose into energy your body can use
  • Detoxifying waste products and pollutants (If your liver stopped detoxifying, you would be dead within a week!)

  • A healthy liver keeps you healthy and helps you recover from illness faster. If the liver is unable to carry out its full function, not only does it become congested and weak; all other organs will be more challenged as a result.

The liver is easily overloaded in our modern, chemical age. Thousands of chemicals are added to food and over 700 have been identified in just our drinking water. Plants are sprayed with toxic chemicals, animals are injected with potent hormones and antibiotics and a significant amount of our food is genetically engineered, processed, refined, frozen and cooked.

It is difficult for the liver to stay healthy after decades of exposure to pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals, and air pollution. It just can't keep up with the heavy workload. It cannot heal itself and regenerate, so it starts to deteriorate and shrink.

As a result, you age faster. You may begin to feel tired all the time because your liver can't convert glucose to energy as quickly as before. You may start gaining more weight around the waistline, and see more cellulite, as your liver is clogged with fat deposits. And you may feel your sex drive decrease as your sex hormones go out of balance.

    Benefits of Cleansing

Cleansing is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health. Cleansing and detoxification neutralizes and eliminates toxins through the major organs, like your colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and even skin. By removing and eliminating toxins, then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health.

Cleansing is especially important for your liver. The liver copes with every toxic chemical in our environment, as well as damaged fats that are present in processed and fried foods. When you cleanse, you purge all of the fats, old cholesterol deposits, gallstones, poisons, drug residues, and toxic waste stored inside your liver. Many agree with me that annual cleansing is the missing link to disease prevention.

    What are Gallstones?

Gallstones are hardened deposits of digestive fluid that can form in your gallbladder.  The gallbradder holds digestive fluid called bile that's released into your small intestine.  Gallstones range in size from a grain of sand to as large as a golf ball.

    Causes of Gallstones

Gallstones can result when the bile contains too much cholesterol, too much bilirubin or when your gallbladder does not empty correctly.  Under normal condtions, the concentration of bile acids is high enough to break down the cholesterol in the mixture and keep it in liquid form.  A diet high in fat can tip this delicate balance causing the liver to produce more cholesterol than the bile acids are able to handle.  As a result, some of this excess cholesterol begins to solidify into crystals, which we call gallstones.  About 80% of all gallstones are called cholesterol stones and are created this way.  The remaining 20% consist of calcium mixed with a bile pigment bilirubin and are called pigment stones.

    The Liver Cleanse

I usually suggest everyone do a liver cleanse once a year to flush the toxins that build up in the liver. During this cleanse, drink as much filtered water and lemonade mixture as you wish. The cleanse can be done for 3-7 days. I recommend trying 3 days for your first time.

    Lemonade Mixture Recipe

  • 2 cups fresh lemon or lime juice ( or both)
  • 14 cups of filtered water
  • 1 tsp. of powered stevia or 10 drops of liquid stevia
  • 2 tsps. Celtic salt

  • Mix all the ingredients together and store in the refrigerator for use during your cleanse.

    Day One

  • Avoid eating any meat or dairy.
  • Drink several glasses of apple juice throughout the day during the liver cleanse because it can soften stones.
  • Heat 8-10 ounces of the lemonade mixture, just to room temperature.  Stir in 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil.  Drink this mixture every 2 hours.
  • Eat lightly during the day, avoiding meat and dairy and continue drinking lemonade.
  • 2pm- begin fasting (you can drink water)
  • 6pm - mix 4 tablespoon of Epsom salts in 3 cups of filtered water and keep in a jar.  This makes 4 servings.  Drink your first glass.
  • 8pm - drink your second glass of Epsom salts.  ( NOTE: if you have not had to bowel movement by 9:30pm a water enema may help get things moving.)
  • 9:45pm - squeeze enough fresh organic grapefruit juice to make 1 cup of juice (remove pulp).  Pour juice and 1/4 cup of olive oil into a jar and shake vigourously.  Drink mixture by 10pm ( with in 10 minutes of making).
  • 10pm as soon as drink is gone,  lie down on your right side with your knees up to your chest and try to go to sleep.  At least try to keep still for 20 minutes.

  • Day Two

  • By 7am the next morning, drink another glass of the Epsom salts mixture.  You can expect diarrhea.
  • 9am - drink your final glass of Epsom salts.
  • 11am - drink some freshly pressed juice.  Wait 30 minutes and then you can start eating food again, starting with fruit and vegetables.
