What Is the Immune System?

You’re picking up bacteria and viruses wherever you go, like in the public restroom or the airplane you take on your way to your next vacation. It could be as simple as someone breathing or coughing on you during a conversation. However you come into contact with them, those viruses and bacteria are going to enter your body.

What happens next is up to the health of your immune system.

Our immune system’s job is to fight off any type of invader into the body — like these harmful bacteria and viruses. Unfortunately, when you have a compromised immune system, these bad guys last longer and have a bigger effect because your body just doesn’t have the resources to fight them off.

Take note: If you’ve caught a cold or flu in the last year, that’s a sign you need to strengthen your immune system.

On the flip side, if you have a strong immune system and you catch something like the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus), you don’t even show symptoms. The challenge here is that although you may not be showing symptoms, you’re contagious and can give it to someone else. Whether a person has symptoms or not, you may be getting exposed.

So how can you actually strengthen your immune system?

It all comes down to your...GUT.

80% of your immune system resides in your gut, so by ensuring that you’re rebuilding and restoring a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria, you are also providing your immune system with exactly what it needs to keep you safe from illness.

The most important thing you can do to strengthen your immune system is to take steps to ensure your gut has the right balance of good bacteria to help your body fight off the bad bacteria.

3 Things That Compromise Your Gut Health and How to Avoid Them

There are three main things that can weaken your immune system and make you more susceptible to illness.

Chlorinated water

Chlorinated water has its benefits, like helping to destroy toxic substances in our water supply. However, chlorine is efficient because it kills bacteria, so when the chlorine gets into your body, it kills the beneficial bacteria in your gut.

You can combat chlorine’s negative effects by using a shower filter and drinking filtered water.

Pesticides and Fungicides

You may eat foods that aren’t organic which means there are pesticides and fungicides that end up in your gut. These toxins destroy the beneficial bacteria that live there.

The best way to avoid this is by eating organic whenever possible. If you have to be choosy, a helpful tool is the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) Dirty Dozen™ list that shows which conventional produce retains the most toxins and so you should avoid.

Heavy Metals

Heavy metals, like mercury and cadmium, are in the water, air, and soil. And, yes, they kill the beneficial bacteria you need for a healthy immune system.

It is difficult to avoid heavy metals, but you can do your best by using good water filters and eating organic food as much as possible.

How to Get Your Immune System in Fighting Shape

Once your good bacteria is gone, it doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. You can replenish the good bacteria in your gut and I’m going to tell you how:

Probiotics.

Probiotics increase the colonies of good bacteria so you can digest your food and supercharge your immune system.

You’ve probably seen a number of probiotics on the shelf at your convenience store or have even tried yogurt that claims to get your gut balance back in check. Most of these will list just three probiotics, which are helpful, but they’re not going to get the job done to completely support your immune system.

Fortunately, I came across Bravo Probiotics many years ago and have been touting its efficacy ever since. It is the product that delivers the most diverse probiotics than any other kind, and it can restore healthy gut function while amping up the power of your immune system dramatically.

Keep in mind: It’s not so much about how many probiotics are going into your body, it’s about the right probiotics.

3-Month Program to Restore Your Gut

It has been shown that it takes three months to replenish and restore your gut bacteria so that your immune system is in tip-top fighting shape.

With Bravo’s Yogurt, you can get exactly what your gut needs to restore your immune health. Make this delicious snack fresh each month and enjoy how easy it is to get your gut bacteria balanced and strong.

With the global threat today and people traveling and passing these viruses to others, you want to protect yourself (and your loved ones). Bravo is your best weapon (and friend).
